Chinese musical instruments 

Guzheng is an ancient Chinese musical instrument. Because of its melodic qualities, the Guzheng was extremely popular for both court and folk music.Gu zhen class is established to share chinese Gu-Zhen music with general public .The main goal is to introduce this acient art and let others have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful music.

There are few reason unique for Qin.The effective vibrating length of the Qin strings is longer than of any other Chinese instruments, resulting in a large vibrating amplitude, and a tone rich in the lower register that fits the sounds of nature.The fingerboard of the Qin is not fretted. Its sound holes are opened on the lower board, which means that the sound is transmitted downwards.

The "pee-paa" is a four-stringed lute, one of the oldest Chinese musical instruments .Name of the instrument pipa originally referred to two finger techniques. The two Chinese characters p'i and p'a stood originally for the two movements,i.e. plucking the strings forwards and backwards, respectively .''pipa" used to be the generic name for all pluck- string instruments of the ancient times. 

Erhu is a kind of violin (fiddle) with two strings, which, together with zhonghu, gaohu, sihu, etc belongs to the "huqin" family.During Song dynasty (960-1279), the second generation of the huqin was among the instruments played at the imperial banquets. 

Xiao. This is used to play classical Chinese music and solo music. It has eight finger holes. Round or the regular straight end do not have tonal differences. It is mainly for aesthetic purpose. Most commonly used keys are F and G. Usually F# is not used very often, and only for specific music or regional opera. An "F" key xiao can play the following diatonic scales: F, C, Eb, Bb, Ab and G. 

The Yangqin is also called a hammered dulcimer. It is played by hitting strings with a pair of bamboo mallets . This produces a high and tinkling timbre in its top registers, a soft and beautiful tone in the middle and a strong rich sound in the lower registers.Yangqin also called the "Chinese piano" as it has an ndispensible role in the accompaniment of Chinese string and wind instruments.
